The renovation process of the historical building of the Academy of Music in Katowice was completed after nearly 2 years. On this occasion, on April 4, 2016, in the renovated Bolesław Szabelski Auditorium, a gala concert took place with the participation of artists from The Grieg Academy which is a part of the University of Bergen (Norway).

The official part of the show started at 5 PM with prof. Ewa Chojecka's presentation about historical aspects of the creation of polychrome in the Auditorium and the specificity of conservation work.

The concert part began with a performance of prof. Julian Gembalski, who played the Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach and his own improvisations on the pipe organ built, as a part of the project, in the workshop of Anton Škrabl.

Visitors from Norway presented the pieces of Norwegian composers from different periods. Ms. Hilde Haraldsen Sveen performed 4 songs of the nineteenth-century composer Carl Arnold, accompanied by Torleif Torgersen on the piano. Afterwards, Ricardo Odriozola performed a song "Inventiones" by a contemporary composer Ketil Hvolsa on the violin. The violinist was accompanied by Einar Röttingen on the piano.

At the end of the concert, Steinar Sætre (saxophone) and Eivind Waage Austad (piano) played Jonnathan Green’s song called "Body and Soul".
