On Friday, April 1, 2016, a press conference was held on the occasion of the completion of the project entitled "Redevelopment of the monumental facility of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice". Assembled journalists were welcomed by His Magnificence, university president prof. Tomasz Miczka.

During the conference, the course and results of the project, and in particular the scope of renovation and restoration works carried out in the Bolesław Szabelski Auditorium, were presented. Historical aspects of the creation of polychromies and specificity of preservation works in the historical Auditorium were presented by prof. Ewa Chojecka.

Conference participants had the opportunity to visit the renovated facility. The conference was attended by representatives of the media from the Silesian region: TVP3 Katowice, "Dziennik Zachodni", "Magazyn Wspólnoty Europejskiej Euro25", Polish Press Agency, the monthly magazine "Śląsk", "Gość Niedzielny" and Internet portals katowicethecity.com and katowice.pro.
