On Wednesday 10 December 2014 a press conference promoting the project of redevelopment of the monumental facility of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice was held. The journalists were welcomed by the President of the Academy prof. Tomasz Miczka.

During the conference the main goals of the project were presented, especially the planned scope of renovation and conservation works in the Bolesław Szabelski Auditorium. The journalists were told in detail what works would be performed within the project, what the entire facility would look like after renovation and what artistic and educational initiatives would be implemented in the renovated auditorium. Participants of the conference were also invited to visit the auditorium, where they could see the first uncovered polychromies.

The conference was attended by representatives of the media from the Silesia Province, e.g.: Gazeta Wyborcza, Dziennik Zachodni, Magazyn Wspólnoty Europejskiej Euro25, a paper published by local authorities Nasze Katowice and the Internet portal katowicethecity.com.
